Dr. Sunny M. Sanders, OD, FAAO
Dr. Sunny M. Sanders received her Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from the Illinois College of Optometry where she also completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses.
Dr. Sanders has held full-time faculty positions at the Illinois College of Optometry, Southern California College of Optometry, Arizona College of Optometry, and is now the founding Dean at the Chicago College of Optometry, Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois.
She has served in numerous teaching and administrative roles, including Chief of Primary Eye Care, Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, Assistant Dean and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Course Coordinator for the Contact Lens and Practice Management Curriculums, and provider of Contact Lens and Ocular Prosthetic Services.
Dr. Sanders has also owned and operated two optometric practices for over 20 years. She lectures nationally in the areas of Ocular Prosthetics, Practice Management, and Contact Lenses.
She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), co-authored an optometry textbook, and has co-edited an optometry coding book.
